The Stone of the Sun is a monolithic disc of olivine basalt with inscriptions alluding to the Mexica cosmogony and solar cults, popularly called the Aztec Calendar because it has the Count of Days, Eras and calendar aspects, where the interpretations on the function and the Meaning of this monolith are diverse among specialists since its rediscovery in the eighteenth century. It was probably a platform for gladiatorial combat, probably involved in the Mexican festival Tlacaxipehualiztli. It measures 3.60 meters in diameter, 122 centimeters thick and weighs more than 24 tons.
